JazzGraphs is a project developed and curated by Ken Cherven, a Detroit-based jazz fan and data visualization enthusiast. The intent of JazzGraphs is to provide interesting windows into the world of jazz – it’s labels, musicians, and genres. These may take the shape of network graphs detailing connections between musicians, labels, recordings, and songs, or in the form of more conventional charts providing unique insights.
Much of the data behind the scenes will come from the MusicBrainz database, while visualization tools will include Gephi, sigma.js, and Exploratory.
